The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is a great book to introduce numbers and counting to your preschoolers.
I used to create large cardboard fruits and food from the book and get the children to act out the story. They would naturally practice to count as they re-enact the parts, pretending to eat the food.
Today, I am sharing another of my collection of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Math activity set. This set includes 9 worksheets and activities on numbers and counting suitable for pre-k and kindergarten level.
At the bottom of this page you will find the download link as well as link to free sample activities.
When you download this set you will receive:
5 variations of counting one - to - one correspondence activities
2 worksheets to match numerals and number words with the correct amount
2 counting worksheets using five frames and ten frames
